The Prophet, peace be upon him – said, “Indeed people are like a hundred camels - you can barely find one fit for riding”(narrated by AlBukhari and Muslim). This means that out of one hundred camels, you can hardly find one which is good enough to ride, because a riding animal should have special qualities. The same is true for people because it is difficult to find a good companion who cooperates and is trustworthy.
Al Qurtubi said, “For example, a man who is friendly, assists people and helps them with their problems is uncommon, similar to a fit riding camel among many. Ibn Battal said that the hadith means that people are numerous, but the satisfactory ones are few. (Fath’ Al Bari, an explanation of Sahih Al Bukhari 335/11)
